::Celeste::

This character took soooo long to Design. x___x For some reason, I find animal ears on humans REALLY HARD to look right, but I was pretty pleased with how these came out. ^_^

Hm, the coloring. Yeah, when I was coloring, I was like, "Okay, gotta come up with something I haven't really done yet..." I'm not overly fond of putting several completely different colors together. I like using one basic color and then creating some colors from that. Unfortunately, I forgot that Maer's coloring is also all green, much like Celeste's. Oh dang. Too late now.

Celeste is half-Shadesoar, a creature dwelling in the darkest parts of the forest in her world, a creature that no one has ever fully seen. Her mother lived alone in the woods and was out too late one night. It was amazing enough that she survived it and made her way, wounded and exhausted, into a nearby village on the outskirts of the forest. The village had seen things like it in the past, but still feel wary of the odd mixture of creature and human that came into their world. The mother, knowing that it was nonetheless a kind shire and a better place to raise Celeste than alone in the wood, dwells there now.

As she grew, Celeste became as wary of the villagers as they of her. She has obtained no especial powers from her Shadesoar part except the ears and eyes (otherwise she closely resembles her mother), except for the fact that she feels distinctly that she can speak the language of the Shadesoars. She believes that they - and other mysterious creatures of her world - are not as bad as other people think, their natures are just different, and that with her being both of Shadesoar and human blood, she could create peace between the two beings.

Celeste wields a very thick, powerful whip (probably longer than I drew it; it is usually coiled at her side, not loose). At the end is a heavy metal ball, and attached to that a mysterious purple claw that she claims to be from a Shadesoar, but few will take her word for it. The purpose of such a device is that when you swing it, the weight will force the claw, sharp as a dagger, into your skin, then with a tug, will tear out with great force and destruction. Rather nasty, eh?

Her odd bottom is actually a skirt, tied in the back so it hangs down. In an instance, Celeste can take out the tie and the skirt will hang down, bunchy and rumbled, a little below the tops of her boots (I LOVE those boots, by the way).

I love this picture, actually, and her outfit, but whips are very hard to draw and I'm rather mournful about the color scheme, cool though I think it is. Sorry there's no background; it's really just a reference picture.
